Unique Doorbells by Michael Healy:
Michael Healy is an accomplished Rhode Island designer with years of
metalworking experience and an eye for creativity. All of Michael Healy
Dragonfly doorbells are hand crafted. Designer enjoyed studying the acrobatic
flight of dragonflies while fly fishing near his cottage. On one August morning,
Michael found a large dragonfly perched by the front door. The dragonfly
eventually flew away but left behind a wonderful idea for one of Michael Healy's
doorbell ringer designs.
Each unique Dragonfly doorbell starts with a sketch which is then sculptured into a
three dimensional model. An impression of the model is made in fine sand into
which 2300° metal is poured. Each model can be used only once making each door
ringer truly unique.
After the metal cools, the sand is broken away and the raw casting emerges.
Through multiple phases of grinding and polishing, accents and highlights are
added to each Doorbell. Each doorbell receives a baked polyurethane
finish similar to the clear coat finish on your car. Michael's signature
confirms its authenticity and quality craftsmanship.
