Picnic Baskets

Start with the picnic basket itself. Try a rattan picnic basket or insulated picnic wine tote. You can find a wide selection with special compartments and straps for keeping dishes, cutlery, wine bottles and even glassware in place safely. Transport wine and cheese in an insulated picnic cooler or in a specially-crafted picnic/wine backpack to keep both appropriately chilled.

You want to bring water above all. Any picnic trip should also include a sunscreen, insect repellent, napkins, small bag for garbage and hats for everyone. Picnics can be as elaborate or as simple as you like. Picnics can be nutritious. Enjoy seasonal produce. A picnic can be as easy and healthy as a slice of beefsteak with tomato on crusty bread. Select foods wisely, avoiding items that spoil rapidly.

When going to the picnic, it’s better to carry the cooler or picnic basket in an air-conditioned car rather than in a hot trunk.
